Sony has some really cool stuff in the works, and this event will be a showcase of all the new things coming to PlayStation soon.
Although the full itinerary has not been confirmed, it’s likely we’ll see news or footage on Marvel’ Spider Man 2 game as well as Final Fantasy XVI coming to PS5 on June 22nd. New games may also be showcased, such as the upcoming Wolverine game.
Beyond that we may also see Naughty Dog’s upcoming multiplayer TLoS video game as well as a potential multiplayer Horizons game.
Sony has also confirmed via their social media that third-party content will be making appearances. For instance, the anticipated release of Mortal Kombat 1 for PlayStation (which already had character leaks online such as the inclusion of Omni-Man from Invincible and Homelander from The Boys).
Personally, I’m hoping for a Bloodborne PC port announcement. There have been rumors of this happening for years and I really want it to happen. In case you don’t know, Bloodborne is a game made by FromSoftware, the guys behind games like Dark Souls, SEKIRO, and Elden Ring, with a more eldritch/dark Victorian twist.
The PlayStation Showcase will last for around an hour or so, beginning at 1pm PT on May 24th, 2023, which you can watch on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels.
