We all know Cardi B is all about collecting her coin and making everybody love her in the process, but now she’s really getting to the bag. Everybody knows the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s favorite phrase: “okurrr.” Since she made it big, that’s been her signature. She’s pretty much known for creating (or popularizing) the word. Because of this, she decided it’s time to apply for a trademark. Under this trademark, she’s basically claiming the rights to the word and as a result will be able to use it on merch like posters, shirts, hoodies, and hats. I mean, who could blame her? At this point it’s basically her phrase and when people hear it they think of Cardi. Some people are kinda butthurt and saying she didn’t create the word, but if you think about it you didn’t ever really hear it before she brought it out. Whether it’s hers or not, she made it get as big as it is so she deserves some credit for that.
In other Cardi news, the rapper secured yet another bag and is going to be on the big screen alongside Jennifer Lopez in the film Hustlers. The movie is about a group of former strippers who decided to go after their rich, wealthy clients and run up their credit cards. Cardi’s just showing us she’s good for more than one thing and proving all the haters wrong. Okurrr, Cardi! We see you!
