This Olympian has found her way back to the sport that turned her into a star. Gymnastics has been forever changed due to Simone Biles dominating the floor.
Since her last appearance at the Tokyo Olympics, this gymnastics star will make her return to the U.S. Classic on August 5. Fans and audiences are highly anticipating her return after sheโs been newly-wed to Jonathan Owens. According to nbcsports.com., โBiles is joined on the entry list by fellow Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, whose last elite competition was also Tokyo. Lee also competed at the NCAA level for Auburn the last two seasons and has said she plans a 2024 Olympic bid. Biles has not announced whether she plans a 2024 Olympic bid and has not publicly shared any information about returning to training. The U.S. Classic is the primary tune-up meet for the U.S. Championships, which are later in August. Bilesโ return to competition after a post-2016 Olympic break was at the 2018 U.S. Classic.โ
Although Biles may not have yet decided whether she plans to return as an athlete at the Paris Olympics, she did confirm that itโs a possibility to return as an athlete or another position. If Biles does decide to go through with an Olympic bid, all eyes will definitely be on her once she hits the floor. This isnโt the first time that an Olympian gymnast, like Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, have taken a break from their beloved sports. However, all the greats and legends do deserve a break and the choice to return to a sport they once loved โ or still do.
Biles will forever remain a household Olympian name and fans canโt wait to see whatโs next for her.
