May Day is here, which gives us another chance to celebrate the warm season, and to celebrate the hard workers and people around us. May Day doesn’t have a specific origin per say, rather it has multiple spring celebration origins from different countries. Regardless, May Day today is meant to spread just a little more kindness and love to those around us.
What makes this holiday a little special is that it’s not one day specifically, but in fact the whole month! May Day can be celebrated every day of May, as it starts on the first, and ends on the 31st. But, May Day can also be a way to celebrate the planet, and help out in small ways.
Typical May Day celebrations range from planting small gardens or flowers, to simple gift baskets for friends, family, or neighbors, or even just letting people know that you care for them! Although it’s not celebrated much in the U.S. I’d like for that to change. It’s a month-long holiday celebrating spring and the people around us. Who wouldn’t want reminders by their loved ones about their importance? Go out and spread some love, or some flowers and plants to show the planet a little extra love!
