Summer Bucket List With The Besties

For many of us, this may be the last summer before leaving for college. You have more responsibilities, obligations, and worries. This may also be your last summer to be a kid and you have to live it to the fullest. That means spending as much time with your friends as possible. No matter if youโ€™re working this summer, carless, broke, or have to look after younger siblings, having fun is still a priority. Here are some things to put on your to-do list before fall kicks in.

  • Backyard Tent Camping: Pull out those tents and purchase supplies from Home Depot for $30 or less. You can also get creative and use sheets/pillows/sleeping bags to create a massive backyard fortress.
  • $5 Tuesday Movies: This is very affordable and an awesome deal for high school and broke college students! Now that Incredibles 2 is out (uh yeah, movie of the summer), you definitely donโ€™t want to miss this Tuesday deal!
  • Scavenger Hunt: Basically, it’s like Easter in the summer! Make it interesting by hiding cool objects, money, or coupons/deals you and your friends would love!
  • Trip to the Beach (Day & Night)
  • Lollapalooza/Summer Concerts: $50 & up. A cheaper outdoor concert or festival would be fun too.
  • Bonfires: Purchase marshmallows, chocolate bars, graham crackers, and metal rod sticks for under $15 at Walmart or Jewels. Donโ€™t forget bug spray. Mosquitoes definitely come out to play.
  • Six Flags: $60 & up. This is a must-stop for every summer. If you love the thrill of adrenaline rushes and heights, this is definitely a priority for you this summer.
  • Free Movie in the Park: Check the Chicago Park District for the free movie in the park schedule. Be sure to bring your blankets and chairs.
  • Explore The City: Play tourist and visit all the cityโ€™s great museums and restaurants. Check outโ€”The Contemporary Art Museum, Navy Pier, Giordanoโ€™s Pizza (BEST EVER), Block 37 for a shopping spree in downtown Chicago, or be seen on TV outside of ABC News Headquarters!
  • Play Laser Tag: $10 & up. Places like Odyssey Fun World & Six Flags have these accessible activities!
  • Go Bowling: $10 & up.
  • Have A Photoshoot With Friends: Find an area with beautiful scenery or put up your own backdrop! Trust me, it doesnโ€™t have to cost hundreds of dollars to get a great photo op!

These are the times of your life youโ€™ll never forget, which is all the more reason to make happy memories.
