“My Adventures With Superman” is back, and better than ever.
The animated series about the classic superhero returns for its second season, and if you like superheroes you’ve gotta check this show out! Starring Jack Quiad as Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olson, and Kiana Madeira as Supergirl, this season amps the stakes, but stays close to home.
Not only is it a really faithful adaptation of the character – this Superman will literally save cats from trees – but it’s also cute. It revolves around the perspective of Lois Lane, a reporter and Clark Kent’s girlfriend.
There’s a scene where she walks off the edge of an empty elevator shaft, just to be funny because she knows Superman will catch her. This season is chock full of little moments like that, and more serious ones, too. Superman finally found someone like him. Another Kryptonian, from his dead home planet, who’s also his cousin. But Supergirl isn’t a hero like Clark is. She doesn’t understand Earth, and follows the orders of someone else.
She and Jimmy also have a crush on each other, and Jimmy has a scene where he lowers the networth of his newly acquired fortune to buy her things.
Even though “My Adventures With Superman” is nearing the end of season two, the Adult Swim show has already been renewed for a third season. If that’s not your sign to check this show out, the upcoming live action Superman movie might convince you.
Directed by James Gunn, and starring David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl, keep an eye out for it in 2025. It’s the first movie in the new DCU (D.C. Cinematic Universe), followed closely in 2026 by a Supergirl movie.
