Swish Dreams Saturday Camp

The Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Supports Swish Dreams Saturday Camps
CHICAGO, Ill. (September 20, 2012) – Basketball is more than just a game. For Swish Dreams Sports and Educational Foundation, it’s used as a tool to teach its young participants educational lessons that range from math and English, to nutrition, public speaking and goal-setting. Structured as a mini-NBA season, this unique camp piqued the interest of the Black McDonald’s Operators Association (BMOA) of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, who is now the proud sponsor of the Swish Dreams Saturday camps.
“Swish Dreams has created a fun and engaging atmosphere with its camps that gets kids excited about education and wellness through sports,” said Ron Lofton, president of the BMOA. “The BMOA is committed to fostering education and advocating balanced-active lifestyles for people in our communities. The Swish Dreams program truly exemplifies those qualities and we are enthusiastic about the enrichment this program provides.”
Running for six weeks, the camps begin Saturday, September 22 through Saturday October 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The Park at National Teacher’s Academy, 55 W. 22nd Street, Chicago, IL 60616. The camps are open to kindergarteners through eighth-graders. In conjunction with the basketball camp is also a cheer camp for girls, which runs simultaneously and teaches lessons with the same principles.
“We are very pleased to begin this relationship with the Black McDonald’s Operators Association,” said Joshua Mercer, founder and CEO of Swish Dreams. “We have seen the great work that they do throughout the community year-round and to now be affiliated with their organization brings us great pride.”
The BMOA and Swish Dreams will return with future six-week Saturday camps during the Winter and Spring of 2013, beginning in January and April, respectively. Visit for more information.
