The Chicago Bears are finally back, and they’re looking good! Since new head coach Matt Nagy took over, there has been a positive trend for the team. Nagy has learned the team’s system and developed second year Mitchell Trubisky into one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. This is the first time in a while that the Bears look solid, considering how many coaches and quarterbacks they’ve had to change year after year.
One of the biggest reasons why the Bears have made a resurgence falls on All Pro Defensive End/Linebacker Khalil Mack, who they acquired from the Raiders during the off-season. The move was the right one for the team. The Bears are currently 8-3, and very few teams seem to be stopping them. A great sign for this team is their ability to win ball games without star players, which more recently involved Trubisky who sat out the Lions game on Thanksgiving due to a shoulder injury. With one of the NFL’s best offensive units in the L.A. Rams coming to town on Sunday, many football fans would agree that the Rams pose one of the toughest threats. So, the league’s best offense against the best defense.
Chicago fans are excited to see the Bears enter the playoffs for the first time since 2010, which seems like forever ago! Even if the Bears don’t win anything this year, their future looks bright and there seems to be good things to come.
One thing many people should contribute to the team’s success is the weather. The freezing cold in Chicago may seem like a bad thing, but when teams from a hotter state come to the city, they feel the difference. The Bears practice in the same conditions as they play in, allowing them to play their full game all the time. When Los Angeles comes to Chicago they won’t be used to the freezing cold, which could give the Bears an advantage. Hopefully the Bears come up big during the playoffs and don’t choke, and possibly give this city another championship title.
