The second annual Beauty ‘N Brunch has come and delivered! Beauty ‘N Brunch, presented by the Beauty and Brains organization founded by Janet and Jennifer Martin, is a scholarship and networking event for young ladies to be empowered through other women while achieving great things in academia.

The incredible day featured many motivational female panelists and guest speakers to grace the event with their wisdom and knowledge. Ashley Weatherspoon of @dearyoungqueen was the  returning keynote speaker. The event was filled with positivity, love, happy tears, and joy as young women received tips for life! Out of an astonishing 400 applicants, 25 young women were chosen as finalists and five of them were selected as scholarship winners. The winners were Kamarie Brown of Spelman College, recipient of the Juanza “Mama” Brown Memorial Scholarship; Kyra Patterson of Howard University, recipient of the $10,000 pre-law scholarship; Leah Fulton of University of Minnesota, recipient of the Doctoral Moms x BB Scholarship; Maya Hill of University of Wisconsin-Madison and Alexis Ihezue of Boston University, recipients of the annual Beauty and Brains Scholarship Award.

My name is Emmanuella and I love to talk. As the youngest of four in an African household I can say it's not that bad. I am an author of my two books, "My Prayer Shawl" and "#it'saPandmeic". I wrote my first book at 13 and my second at 16. That was fun. I want to be relatable, fun and helpful.
