Everybody, including me, has been waiting for news of a sequel to Black Panther from the moment we left the theater after watching the first movie. Well, the news is out! It has been announced that Ryan Coogler, the writer/director of Black Panther, is coming back for part two of Black Panther, the Marvel film that grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.
According to variety.com, Marvel has yet to comment on the sequel and no release date has been set just yet. We do know that the production of this film is expected to begin in either late 2019 or early 2020. This all solely depends on when the script is complete.
At least we won’t have to go without Coogler’s work for too long while we’re very impatiently waiting for Black Panther 2 to come out. He has a smaller scale film apparently in the works now. Coogler is also the executive producer of the film Creed II, which is slated to be released next month on November 21.
Stay tuned. As soon as we hear more about Black Panther 2 we will be sure to let you know.
