The Sky are back in the winning column after recently beating the Seattle Storm 102-79. The Sky were unstoppable once the clock started ticking. The team now has 13 wins this season tying with the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Sparks also played on the same night but would have to lose to give Chicago a chance at regaining there playoffs spot. Dana Evans stated, “We knew how big this game was and we knew we needed this game. We had to get the job done. We were smart with everything we did today and that helped us come out on top.”

Evans was on fire, scoring 23 points and 8 assist. Marina Mabrey stated that Evans is “awesome.” “Some people forget she is very versatile. I watch Dana when she plays in Turkey and I think they forget not only can she play defense she could be a offensive threat to.”

Other key players for the Sky were Mabrey with 19 points and 5 rebounds, along with Alanna Smith who added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Coach Emre Vatansever stated, “Kahleah said panic made her focus tonight. I don’t know what she means by that, but it clearly helped us out. We had 19 deflection and 11 steals. We were able to knock down the majority of our shots so that helped us.”

Next game, the Sky play against the Acers who are No. 1 in the WNBA. Recently Acers star Aja Wilson scored a career-high of 53 points. When asked how do expect the Sky to play against the Acers, Vatansever stated, “We put up 100 points on the Acers, so I feel like we can beat anyone if we play smart, physical, basketball with minor mistakes. We just have to focus and keep going to get back in the eighth seed.

For the Storm, they fall to 10-23. The Storm are officially out of the playoffs and now focusing on
regrouping in the off-season. Key players for the Storm were Jowell Loyd with 26 points and 5 assist and Sami Whitcomb with 10 points and 4 assist.
