The Strawberry Moon

Just a day after the Summer Solstice, humankind is graced with a beautiful sight – none other than June’s Strawberry Full Moon. Known as the most colorful of the year due to its low path across the sky that gives the moon a shade of gold rather than a harsh, vibrant red.

The Strawberry Moon represents love, prosperity, and the abundance of summer. This full moon is rare and named by Indigenous American people, specifically Algonquin tribes in North America who’d name the June full moon as a time for harvesting ripe strawberries and other foods.

On such a special day, you don’t have to be extremely spiritual to practice self-love rituals and meditation. On full moons, I always listen to great music, charge my crystals in the moonlight, bathe, and sit a glass container of water outside underneath the moon, creating moon water with different essential oils for refreshing and cleansing my space and environment. You can also go on a nature walk and gaze at the moon. I suggest journaling and setting positive intentions for yourself and life, because strawberries symbolize love and passion, and this moon phase is a powerful one – as it represents new beginnings and potential to grow. This is the perfect time to pour into your deepest desires and dreams and to plant a seed with the intent to blossom when the time is right.

Be mindful of your attitude during the strawberry moon! Be grateful for life’s sweetness and harness the energy of this full moon to focus on what it is you’d like to both bring and see in your life.

Although the moon won’t be red, it’s a reflection of the connection to the strawberry harvest season. You should still observe this beautiful celestial event at its peak illumination this Friday at 9:08 p.m. ET.
