How long have you been a part of True Star?
I started in July 2024.
What made you want to become a part of True Star?
I was introduced by my mentors over at Ladies of Virtue. During the summer, they always want the girls to have a job, something to do in the summer, so I got signed up to do True Star.
How did your True Star discipline spark a passion for learning?
I get to learn how to do something new. Like podcasting, I never knew how to do that prior to joining True Star, so learning about that, it was pretty fun.
What is your ideal career?
I actually want to own my own restaurant, so entrepreneurship.
I’ve benefited because True Star has provided an outlet for me to talk about anything, like current events, general stuff, teenager problems that all teenagers go through like dating, friends, school. — Kimoirah Shaw
How has True Star prepared you for your future career?
I feel like it’s prepared me to be a leader. It’s really helped me expand on that. It feels good to be somebody that my peers can be able to go to and ask for help.
When I first joined, I was really shy. I didn’t really want to speak or do anything, but now I’ve really blossomed into a leader that helps out. Helps the other students, helps my manager.
How have you benefited from being a member of True Star?
I’ve benefited because True Star has provided an outlet for me to talk about anything, like current events, general stuff, teenager problems that all teenagers go through like dating, friends, school. It’s just literally an outlet to say what’s on my mind and put that out there for people to hear.
What has been your favorite True Star experience so far?
The ‘Go Fest over the summer. I got to work it, and it was a pretty nice experience. It was really fun to see the performances and all of that.
How has True Star contributed to your success in life so far?
Since I’ve gotten the experience at True Star, it’s something that I can put on my resume, my college applications. People look at them and they’re like “Oh, that’s interesting.”
