“I’ve been using it and serving it to my clients for a year — no one has ever gotten sick,” Chef Pii recently told the Washington Post.
The latest TikTok craze of the Pink Sauce has the hashtags buzzing as there are mixed reviews of this new phenomenon.
The sauce created by Chef Carly Pii known as @Chef.Pii (pronounced “pea”) on TikTok—is a private chef in Miami. She’s been in the chef business for four years and claims to have only used the sauce for private clients. From her success as a chef she decided to sell the sauce publicly starting July 1st.
Not only is the sauce not FDA approved or regulated, people have reported becoming sick after using the sauce on their food.
According to LA Times, Chef Pii stated in a video that the sauce is now manufactured in a facility that’s approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and in line with FDA standards. “We are currently in lab testing,” she said. “Once we go through lab testing we will be able to pitch to stores.”
