If you ever find yourself dating someone that’s not right for you, then dump them and move on. However, if this keeps happening it’s probably time to do some self-evaluating. Ladies, if we’re honest with ourselves, there are times we don’t pick wisely. Fellas, keep it real, because you don’t always select the right girl either. Before you go down another road of regret, check out these reasons why you keep dating the wrong person.
You really think you can change/save people
We’d all like to think that we can change the way people act or think. Say the person you’re dating has some negative traits, like they don’t support your dreams or can’t communicate well. These are things that are basically engrained in someone. Fact: You can’t change a person unless they want to change for themselves. Don’t even try to do it, just move on.
If you’ve been single for a long time and someone starts to notice you or starts talking to you, don’t immediately jump into a relationship with this person. Get to know them first and then date. If you don’t, you’re probably just being with them because of the way they make you feel, not because you actually like him or her for who they are. That’s a big problem that will inevitably lead to bigger problems.
You don’t trust your gut
I think we all know deep down when we’re in a relationship that isn’t working or when we’re dating someone that’s not good for us. We probably all get this voice in our head saying, “This is wrong” or something of that sort, yet we refuse to do anything about it. If you ever get that feeling again when you’re in a relationship with someone, you should trust yourself and know it’s time to let go.
