Was Pitchfork The Best Summer Fest Yet?

Tierra Whack was among the many performers at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival.

Pitchfork fest was a success. If you didn’t know, Pitchfork kicked off last weekend, and it was one
of the best festivals of the year. Pitchfork took place at Union Park and featured artists like Tierra
Whack, Spiritualized, Amber Mark, No Name, Cupcakke, and Earl Sweatshirt.

Black Thought and The Roots were among the headliners for this year’s fest.

This year’s headliners were The Nationals, Mitski, and the legendary soul group The Roots.
During the festival it was pouring rain but that didn’t stop the show. The festival fans threw on a
poncho and continued to enjoy the acts. While fans were waiting for artists to take the stage,
Pitchfork had many side activities you could enjoy such as a photo booth area, vendors you
could buy from, plenty of food and a Door Dash backstage area where you could watch
exclusive interviews with the different artists that have performed.

Other than the rain, the concert had one flaw and that was the BADBADNOTGOOD cancellation due to COVID reasons, but Pitchfork did there best at replacing the talent and of course they came
through by having Erika De Casier perform to make up for the missing talent. After Erika De
Casier hit the stage, NO Name came to please the crowd even more.

Once the weather cleared up everyone pulled out their picnic blankets and began to lay down and
enjoy the show. Pitchfork was sold out so you can just imagine how pack it was and how many
picnic blanket there were. This was really an event that brought Chicago together by using music
and this should be on your watchlist for next year. Pitchfork is family friendly and its totally
worth the cost of the $100 – $400 tickets and you will not be disappointed.
