For the first time in FRANCHISE history, the Chicago Sky have made the play-offs, and will play in their first post-season series against rival and defending Champions, the Indiana Sky.
Believe it or not, this is kind of a big deal and as a city known for sports teams to bring back a championship, we owe it to the Sky to support and show out in full force.
As seen on the official Chicago Sky Website:
The Chicago Sky’s first round playoff schedule and opponent has been announced after the WNBA regular season was completed Sunday, September 14th. The Sky, who finished first in the Eastern Conference, will face the fourth seed Indiana Fever in the first round of the 2013 WNBA Playoffs.
The first game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will be held at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, September 20 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. The game will air on NBATV. The Sky will head to Indianapolis for the second game of the series on Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m. CT. Game two will air on ESPN2. The date and time of the final game in the series, if needed, is to be determined.
The Chicago Sky had their best record in franchise history, finishing 24-10, while the defending WNBA Champions, Indiana Fever, completed the season with a 16-18 record. The Sky and Fever met four times during the regular season. Chicago took the first game 71-61 but fell to the conference rivals in their next three matchups.
