People are fired up about Kamala Harris being the Democratic Nominee, and among the strongest advocates are Gen Z. Last week, Young Voters for Harris had a groundbreaking call that united young people who support the potential first Black woman president.
The call was a part of the Students for Harris collective. It featured over 2,000 youth, where Eve Levenson, Harris for President Youth Director, and Anderson Clayton, NCDP (North Carolina Democratic Party) Chair, encouraged youth to spread the word about mobilizing votes behind Harris. They also encouraged participants to start or join a Students for Harris chapter on their high school and college campuses.
During the call, a Linktree was shared continuously (it kept getting pushed up in the chat because of the excited commotion), which highlights:
- Youth Engagement Links, which features a weekly youth newsletter
- Weekly Phone Banks, which occur every Sunday from 5pm to 7pm ET, that mobilize youth to make calls to legislators voicing their opinions
- Campus Organizations, which mobilize students to start or join Harris for president movements on their college campuses
- Joining Reach, a relational and content sharing app
The call was short, but mighty, where the chat was booming with youth who were not even able to vote yet. โIโm still in high school, but how do I get involved?โ was one of the main questions asked by participants, where representatives shared the above links. Now is the time to get involved and elect Kamala Harris as President, so do what you can! Itโs showtime.
