Zendaya Strikes AGAIN!

The fashion maven’s second collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger grabs the attention of New York Fashion Week

Zendaya does it again with her collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. Last year her collection made a stunning debut and caught the attention of everyone. This year she managed to do the same exact thing.

The runway show was held at the Apollo Theater in the heart of New York City, which made sense for their Harlem Nights themed show. Hilfiger and Zendaya are one of few designers that strive for inclusiveness on the runway. There was a an array of shape, color, sizes, and even ages. This made the show more interesting and more relatable for people like me. I think it is so important to be able to see yourself in ads, fashion shows, billboards, and everything else.

In similarity to last year collection, the 70’s showed to be the source of inspiration of this collection. Fashion in the 70’s is truly unmatched, so I understand why this same trend is being used in the collection. The Collaboration was filled with patterns, which is absolutely perfect for the fall season. The silhouettes used were complex and varied. I saw so many different material used for the designs. Leather, velvet, and chiffon seemed to be the front runners of this collection. From bell bottoms to double breasted blazers, this collection had it ALL.  Although the pieces were amazing, some of my favorite item were the accessories. Waist belts, metallic scarves, bow ties, and rounded sunglasses made each look pop!

Tommy Hilfiger RTW Fall 2019

Zendaya’s future in the fashion industry looks very bright. The multi-talented woman was and still is a fashion icon outside of this collaboration. I cannot wait to see what more she has in store with Hilfiger and maybe even other designers.

I rep the 219, Indiana. I'm a wardrobe stylist and owner of Vintage By. B. I love shopping for pieces that are different and that I know nobody else will have! But one thing I hate about shopping is going broke doing so. Throughout the years of me working in retail, I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks for saving LOTS of money when shopping. I also go against trends by Vintage shopping. I find pieces that I can pair together to create works of art. You can call me a penny pincher, but I'll look BOMB while pinching my pennies :)
