Zendaya, one of our favorite young acting stars, has grown up in front of us as a Disney Channel Princess and seamlessly transitioned into a challenging break-out adult role on the HBO hit series “Euphoria.” Now her roles only seem to advance. In the newest trailer for the movie Challengers, her upcoming movie, Zendaya will not only be navigating a love triangle, but starring as a world champion tennis player.
Fans and audiences had positive responses for this new trailer that, right now, is the only promo for the upcoming movie. Some fans even praised the crew for the Challengers movie and thanked them for allowing Zendaya to appear in a role as a “hot” love interest. Fans got a snippet of Zendaya kissing the two lead male characters in the movie, Mike Faist and Josh O’Conner, to portray the love triangle which has sparked more conversation regarding the anticipated release. According to esquire.com, “Challengers follows Tashi Donaldson (Zendaya), a professional tennis player who transitioned into coaching after a devastating injury halted her career. While off the court, she trains her husband into a world-famous tennis star. Their life is full of glitz and glamour until he falls into a losing streak. To help him snap out of it, Tashi signs him up for a match against his greatest opponent, Patrick—his ex-best friend and her ex-boyfriend.”
Not only did fans react positively to the new film trailer, but they jokingly flooded social media with memes of Tom Holland reacting to her teaser on-kiss scene. Audiences can’t wait to see men fight for Zendaya’s romance in this tennis competition movie. All is fair in love and war, right? Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for long. Challengers is set to premiere in theaters on September 15.
