Chicago Fashion Week [Recap]

October 8th was the day for creative youth to come together to share their fashion designs with all of Chicago for Chicago Fashion Week (CFW) at downtown’s Block Thirty Seven! Fresh and trendy fashions all in one room, with strobe lighting and eager spectators snapping pictures of the many different designs made for an environment full of excitement and anticipation.

The theme of the event was fall time street style. Many youth designers presented unique designs that made for a very interesting show. We saw designs from every end of the fashion spectrum such as chic denim, a twist on your everyday flannel, and even a glow in the dark collection that brought a bit of futuristic flare. There were dozens of young talented designers, but we’re totally head-over-heels for Alexander Swain’s artist chic collection. It was right on trend with the denim aspect but brought something fresh with fun paint splatter. Another designer to watch is Bornmade. This designer created a collection that effortlessly captured the essence of Chicago young adults. Hoodies with clean designs that were confidently comfortable really stood out in how understatedly cool they were. Overall, there were designers shared with Chicago their high fashion items, from distressed and ripped denim shirts, to trendy urban style pieces. Both fashion artists provided many eye catching colors in their work. All of these designers brought different perspectives of what Chicago fashion is and it was truly satisfying to see so much hard work come to fruition in one room. Style Bias was definitely a success!
