Met 2024 Brought Out Nature in the Stars

Zendaya

The 2024 Met Gala theme was “The Garden of Time, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. Some celebrities, like Zendaya, took this theme and went dark, whereas other artists like Teyana Taylor, with her “rose in Harlem” look, went more floral. I’d say, with all the looks so far, especially those mentioned, each went for something that uniquely represents them, incorporating this year’s theme.

The event, nicknamed the Oscars of fashion, recently took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s co-hosts included Zendaya and JLo, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny. Here are some of Met 24’ most memorable looks:

The Met’s Most Memorable

Zendaya: To mention this year’s Met, is to acknowledge the beauty of none other than Zendaya. She arrived on the red carpet, in vintage Givenchy couture from its spring 1996 collection—one of two collections designed by John Galliano. Her second look, by Maison Margiela, truly stole this year’s show. With dark eye makeup that brought out the blue in her dress, she perfectly embodied this year’s theme.

Teyana “A Rose in Harlem” Taylor: The rose from Harlem herself, came correct in her crimson-colored floral dress designed by Thom Browne. Accessorized with a blonde updo, she gave fans everything they were looking for.

Taylor Russell: The people’s princess, none other than Taylor Russell, gave us nothing but a tree of life with her Lowe body-cast bodice and skirt this year. Russell’s look was the epitome of elegance. Her simple choice of hairstyle and makeup drew attention to her outfit.

Tyla: For this to be Tyla’s first Met, she entered with a unique statement – a Balmain gown covered in real sand paired with an hourglass purse. This dress was molded to custom fit her body, although a simple gown, Tyla elegantly captures the Met Gala’s theme.

These are just a few of the most talked about outfits for this year’s Met Gala, what celebrity’s look is your favorite? Let me know.
