This year commemorates 40 years of House Music, a genre of electronic dance music combining the elements of disco, funk and soul. Originating in the underground night scenes in Chicago, it has continued to evolve through the years further influencing a new generation of musicality.

Actor/comedian Deon Cole was in the mix of this years event to promote his singleย  “Post That.”

This year the Chosen Few Picnic and festival brought together the original creators of what became known as House Music in the 1970s. Since 1990 this event has drawn fans of the genre to the annual event. With nearly 40,000 attendees, the Jackson Park celebration, along with many other events throughout the summer, are an ode to 40 years of House Music.
