New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu teamed up with Nike to create the Sabrina 1’s.The lightweight sneaker is designed to be flexible and responsive, it uses Nike React cushioning and Zoom Air in the forefoot to help players move quickly across the court, with a stabilizing shank so players don’t lose balance.
According to Sneaker News, Ionescu joins an exclusive group of female athletes which includes Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, Naomi Osaka, Elena Delle-Donne represented by NIke, however, Ionescu is the only one to deliver a full unisex collection.
Ionescu gave her followers footage of what is to come, showing photos of her footwear and apparel collection. According to Sole Retriever, the going rate for the Nike Sabrina 1’s is $125. The report indicates several colorways, the names inclu-de Photon Dust, White Black, Oxygen Purple, New York Liberty, Light Bone Laser Orange, and Medium Soft Pink. The shoe has the phrase “anyone, anywhere” embedded into the midsole. In a press release, Nike says it represents “Ionescu’s unmatched competitive spirit as well as her belief that dreams can come from anywhere.”
The full Nike Sabrina 1 footwear and apparel collection is set to release Summer 2023 on nike.com.
