The Sky Take Another L

Kahleah Cooper

The Chicago Sky just can’t get it together as they are now on a three-game losing streak, taking an L in the recent game against the Connecticut Sun 84-72. It was a tough battle at the beginning of the game, but then the Sky soon saw themselves in foul trouble in the second. With Alanna Smith and Courtney Williams having three fouls each, that cut time from them being on the court. Both players are key players to the Sky offense and defense.

Sky interim coach/GM Emre Vatansever was asked, “How do you stay consistent and put up points in the fourth after having a decent three quarters.” He responded by stating, “We have to be better and hit our shots. We have to practice and get it together. I think we are almost there. We still have things to find out.”

Turnovers played a big part in the game with the Sky giving up 26 points off turnovers. Kahleah Cooper stated, “I’m happy for the break. We have time to relax and regroup. I think we are okay. We can change the season around before it ends. For me I have no break, but that means I need to push through. The frustration comes from messing up. …You don’t want to mess up. You want everything perfect, but it doesn’t work that way. If you mess up, you turn that into motivation or go on defense or offense and make the perfect play.”

Cooper was recently selected to play in the All-Star game in Vegas. Top players for the night’s game was Cooper with 22 points and Elizabeth Williams with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
