In the show “My Adventures with Superman,” Clark Kent struggles with keeping Metropolis safe, but faces an even harder challenge… his crush on Lois Lane. This is an animated series airing on Adult Swim, but holds back on the flirting with an R-rating that the movies have recently portrayed with the superhero. Instead of an edgy, dark version of the character, Superman flirts with Lois Lane instead, a fellow reporter at The Daily Planet.
Nicknaming her “Luz” Lane, fans immediately noticed the redesign to Superman’s love interest, and hilariously resembling the main character of “The Owl House,” Luz Noceda. Lois Lane in “My Adventures” is a funny, determined reporter who grapples with two men in her life… Clark Kent, and the new superhero to her city, Superman.
With James Gunn’s live action Superman film on the horizon, the superhero is more relevant than ever. If you want a chance to catch up on his origin, then look no further than “My Adventures With Superman.”
The show is hilarious and adorable, combining the classic action/adventure of a superhero origin story, with a romcom between Clark and Lois. The show brings some renewed depth to Superman, as he has to manage to juggle his love life while keeping his identity as Superman a secret.
Clark’s best friend and good-natured third wheel, Jimmy Olson, also joins them on their adventures, the third in their group to be an intern trying to become a reporter. With each episode, you can be sure to check off Jimmy lowkey shipping Clark and Lois.
The show is almost just as much about Lois Lane than it is about Superman, and that makes it all the better. Her enthusiastic, ready-to-go energy makes the audience just as pumped up as her.
Starring Jack Quaid as Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olson, “My Adventures With Superman” releases episodes every Friday, with the fourth one releasing today, July 21st.
