Teen Bash 2025 Brought Out the Youth

If you weren’t at the 2025 Teen Bash at Navy Pier, you definitely missed out on one of the most exciting events of the year. Put together by Mayor Brandon Johnson, this free event was all about bringing teens together for a day full of music, fun, and unforgettable moments. And the best part is that the mayor himself didn’t just organize it—he showed up, hung around, and interacted with all the teens and attendees, making it feel like a true community celebration!

From the start, the energy was wonderful. Pep Rally Takeover, hosted by DJ Hotrod and DJ B-Man, set the tone with high-energy music and hype. Then came a lineup of live performances that kept the crowd entertained all day long. NewClearFusion kicked things off, followed by DJ Double-8, then Tai Hunter brought his own spin to the mix. The Golden Knights Drill Team had everyone in awe with their precision and skill, and finally, Zion Ali closed out the performances with a set that left the crowd ecstatic.

But, this event wasn’t just about the music. Throughout the day, there were huge giveaways on stage—Lollapalooza tickets, Chicago Fire tickets, NASCAR Street Race tickets, and Chicago Sky tickets were all up for grabs.

In the center of the event, a group of skaters and bikers took over the space, showing off all kinds of cool tricks. And for those looking to tap into their competitive side, gaming stations with TVs and video game consoles were set up, giving teens a chance to go head-to-head in friendly matches.

Creativity was flowing, too. A graffiti wall gave teens the chance to leave their mark, while airbrush tattoo stations had people lining up to get some fresh (temporary) ink. Vendors lined the space, offering everything from cool merch to valuable resources.

For those who needed a break from all the action, the upper level featured a “quiet zone,” a chill space where teens could unwind, make bracelets, and just vibe in a more relaxed setting. It was the perfect balance to an event that had something for everyone.

“I decided to go because it seemed like a great opportunity to hang out with friends. It was an event that sounded interesting, and I was excited to see and meet new people. My favorite parts were making bracelets, getting airbrush tattoos, and the plentiful activities to explore that made for a fun, relaxed environment,” says Christin Katz, a junior at Lindblom Math and Science Academy.

From beginning to end, the 2025 Teen Bash delivered on every level. It was a space where teens could be themselves, enjoy new experiences, and connect with their peers—all while feeling supported by their city. If this event proved anything, it’s that when young people come together with the right energy and the right opportunities, the result is always amazing.
