Parker Continues to Change Women’s Sports

Retired WNBA star Candace Parker will continue to change the game of B-Ball as the new President of Adidas Women’s Basketball. / Adidas

Candace Parker is a name that rings many bells. After 16 seasons as one of the most successful and decorated players in WNBA history, the newly retired Naperville native is spearheading a new role as President of Adidas Women’s Basketball. In this role, she is responsible for developing an influential platform that will elevate the future of women’s sports. As a key representative for women’s sports, her mission is to focus on access, increased representation, and breaking down barriers on a global scale.

To do this, Parker will develop initiatives that will, above all, inspire and empower the next generation of women’s athletes to follow the legacy that she has worked so hard to create. This is grand, in the scheme that women’s empowerment is more necessary and influential now than ever before. In the age where empowerment is at our fingertips in social media, it is beautiful to witness the professional backing of Adidas behind Parker’s influence, making her even more powerful than before.

Parker can take many avenues with this partnership; whether her chosen venture is grassroots fundraising for WNBA salaries or positively impacting the youth, Parker will undoubtedly continue to make her mark. We are excited to see what is to come!
