Bad Boy Franchise Passes Billi Mark

The Bad Boys franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has surpassed the billion dollar mark.

Bad Boys is back and in a theater near you, and Ride or Die, the latest movie in the franchise, has taken the lead for best action movie this summer. Ride or Die is a perfect mix of action, comedy, and suspense that leaves you entertained the entire time. According to Variety, the movie, which debuted May 22, 2024, did it big in the box office. With a production budget of $100 million, it has grossed $106 million at the global box office. To date, the movie has made approximately $227 million worldwide, bringing the Bad Boys franchiseโ€™s box office above $1 billion globally.

This is Will Smith’s first major film since the infamous Chris Rock slap at the 2022 Oscars that resulted in a 10-year ban from all Academy events.

Smith and Martin Lawrence who portray Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett in the movie, reunite to embody their dynamic duo one more time. The plot takes place in Miami, as the two cops set out to avenge their late Captain who was killed in the prior film of the franchise Bad Boys: For life. The duo goes on the run as they attempt to clear their name and their captainโ€™s. This worldwide adventure is filled with danger and humor that bring some familiar favorites back to the franchise.

Armado, played by Jacob Scipio, returns as Mike Lowry’s son, and Reggie, from the second Bad Boys, played by Dennis Greene, returns as the stepson of Marcus Burnett. And let me tell you, they stood on BIG BUSINESS. The Reggie and Armando characters will leave you both excited and laughing. The movie also features names that we know and love like Dj Khaled and actor Tasha Smith.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die certainly held its own in the franchise. I would definitely recommend watching this movie if you have not seen it yet. If you have seen it, be sure to leave your reaction down below.
