Social media went wild with the recent release of Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” video featuring Drake, Swae Lee, and Big Hawk. While most people were praising the special effects that took place, one person was feeling a little left off. After “Sicko Mode” has made its way to the top of the Hot 100 charts, it has already received over 16 million views on YouTube in under a week.
But some fans were curious to know why Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee wasn’t in the video. Swae Lee addressed the situation via Instagram Live saying, “I don’t know why I’m not in the video. They try to cancel Swae Lee out of a lot of stuff.” This isn’t the first time Swae Lee has been left out of something dealing with music. If you remember when Beyoncé’s infamous “Formation” came out in 2016, he had to plead his case to prove that he is indeed a co-writer for the song. It wasn’t until Mike WiLL came to Swae’s defense saying how his freestyle sparked the idea of “Formation” that people actually believed him.
On the other hand, some fans felt that Swae Lee’s two-word-camo wasn’t worthy enough for him to be featured in the music video. The video is so jammed packed with dope effects, like a girl literally twerking in Drake’s eyeball, that many didn’t realize Swae Lee was missing from the video.
Swae Lee continued with the Instagram Live video saying, “In five years we gonna see who the real star is.” Now we don’t know if he was taking shots at Travis Scott or Drake when he said that. Let us know what your thoughts on Swae Lee being MIA from the video are and your thoughts on the music video in general.
