It’s truly an amazing and inspiring thing to see Black people succeed, especially in areas that can be particularly tense and heated towards POC, like politics.
To bring the 2020 presidential debate season to a successful warp, last night NBC journalist and White House correspondent Kristen Welker moderated the event. At certain moments things got tense, and at points heated, but Welker did her job very well to get Trump and Biden to answer questions. She set her rules and stuck to them, which led to a debate that we could all respect, understand, and digest.
The amazing job that this Harvard grad did last night marks her as the first Black woman to moderate a presidential debate since 1992, according to msn.com. She is proof that every day Black women are leaving their mark in the world and are accomplishing things that we can all take pride in. Welker is but one example of this. I hope that everyone can see that as a hopeful thing illuminating our people’s future.
